The Food Pantry Needs Your Help
Our food pantry provides boxes of food to people in our community who need help feeding their families and themselves. We depend entirely upon your donations to serve our community through this ministry. You can check here or in the Server, our weekly bulletin, to find out what is currently needed most.
Important Needs:
Peanut Butter (18 oz)
Canned Fruit
Meat in cans or pouches (especially chicken- fish not needed right now)
Due to recent generous donations, we have an abundance of canned vegetables and soups. Thank you!
Please pick up some of these items when you are in the store shopping for your family. This is an easy way to bless many lives.
Transportation Assistance
If you are a senior member of our congregation and would like assistance with transportation to a Sunday or Wednesday evening service due to weather conditions or simply because it is dark outside, please call the church office (761-2007) and let us know. We will do our best to provide a ride to church.
Inclement Weather Policy
Whenever local radio or television stations issue cautions against driving or if driving conditions appear too dangerous due to severe weather, please check our congregation's website (www.cocws.org) or tune in a local media outlet for additional information regarding cancellation of services. Generally speaking, our inclement weather plan is as follows:
*We will not cancel Sunday morning services entirely, but may meet together at 11:00 AM for a single service. In such cases, Bible classes and Children's Worship will be dismissed. If the Sunday afternoon service is cancelled, a brief communion service may be scheduled for 5:00 PM.
*Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night services will be cancelled whenever the office is closed due to snow or icy conditions.
*The CLC will follow the closing policies of Memphis City Schools (MCS). If the schools are closed, the CLC will be closed as well.
*The church office will close on the first day that MCS are closed. The decision about a consecutive day or days during which MCS are closed will be made by the senior minister, the ministry coordinator, and the chairmen of the Elder's Sheperding & Adminstrative Committees. If in doubt, a call to the church office (761-2007) will enable you to know if it is open or not.
While the cancellation of any service is not anticipated, except in unusual circumstances, everyone is discouraged from driving when conditions are unsafe.
