Inclement Weather Policy

Though it doesn’t happen very often in Memphis, inclement weather is a possibility this time of year.  We will do our very best to communicate with everyone if inclement weather does occur.  Check your email for a church-wide alert if you have any question about what our schedule will be.

Generally speaking, our inclement weather plan is as follows:

• We will not cancel Sunday morning worship services entirely, but may meet together at 11 a.m. for a single service.  In such cases, Bible classes will be dismissed, as will Children’s Worship.   If the Sunday afternoon service is canceled, a brief communion service may be scheduled for 5 p.m
• Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night services will be canceled whenever the church office is closed due to icy or snowy conditions.
• While the cancellation of any service is not anticipated except in unusual circumstances, everyone is discouraged from driving when conditions are unsafe.
• The Community Life Center will follow the closing policies of Memphis City Schools. If the schools are closed, the CLC will be closed as well.
• The church office will close on the first day Memphis City Schools are closed. The decision about a consecutive day or days during which Memphis City Schools are closed will be made by the senior minister, the Administrative Minister and the chairmen of the elders’ Shepherding and Administrative Committees. If in doubt, a call to the church office will enable you to know if it is open or not.
